Wherein an adult student of oboe chronicles her adventures in music, medicine, and faith, and other stories... “Novelists, opera singers, even doctors, have in common the unique and marvelous experience of entering into the very skin of another human being. What can compare with it?” -Willa Cather

I loved your "Mom's Apple Pie" post -- very, *very*, well-written.
Thanks, DM!
It's a lovely post! :-D
Appreciation by our family members of the "gifts that can't last", like your apple pie, both pleasing and nourishing, and the gifts that are intangible, like love, joy, courage and optimism, is what makes Moms like us the happiest.
I smiled and smiled as I read your post. Thank you.
Loved the pie post! I liked the part about how when you cook for someone, food by definition doesn't last, but still there is great joy in the act of cooking and baking for someone and seeing them enjoying it. The memories of that last, so it is an infinite joy.
And speaking of pie and the infinite, belated Happy Pi Day! : )
