Stonehenge at dusk:
A portal to an ancient, lost world...
Rain clouds gathering; my husband and son tiny next to the sarsens...
Wherein an adult student of oboe chronicles her adventures in music, medicine, and faith, and other stories... “Novelists, opera singers, even doctors, have in common the unique and marvelous experience of entering into the very skin of another human being. What can compare with it?” -Willa Cather

Sooo cool! I would love to see that someday!
Yes it is amazing! Stopped at a beautiful country pub for lunch on the way there years ago; also amazing!
K. - if you do have a chance to go, I highly recommend the "walk among the stones at sunset" tour. Regular tours keep most visitors on a path roped-off away from the stones, so you can only see them from a distance.
Our guide, Pat, was wonderful - he was so attentive to our kids, who were the only children in the tour group, and really tried to include them in his presentations. I always appreciate when people remember kids!
